Get Involved! The PTO Executive Committee plans and executes activities to bring parents closer to the school.
Here are 10 Reasons to join the PTO.
- Get Connected: There is no better way to know what’s happening in your school.
- Help your Child Succeed: Children do better when their parents are involved at home and at school .
- Be a Role Model: Demonstrate to your child the importance you place on education .
- Boost Children’s Well-Being: Focus on what students need to be successful in their learning. Help to ensure children are prepared to succeed .
- Discover Great Resources: The PTO offers a variety of programs and tips designed for parents as well as students.
- Tap into a Network: Share ideas, concerns and experiences with other parents and educators, build rapport and discuss issues that are on your mind.
- Witness Improvement: Get involved at your child’s school and you’ll be part of the solution, helping make positive changes.
- Get Involved: PTO programs and resources encourage and support parent involvement in children’s education.
- Speak Up : PTO is a forum for exchanging ideas, and you are encouraged to make suggestions.
- Watch Yourself Grow : Gain valuable experiences. It is an opportunity to put your skills and hobbies to good use for a good cause.
In addition to the PTO, all parents are encouraged to join one or more of the following subcommittees:
Class Mom (or Dad) - Class parents help teachers with their children’s classroom activities, field trips, class parties and programs under the discretion of the classroom teacher. These parents are the link between teacher/administration/PTO and other class parents. A class parent must attend the monthly PTO meetings as well as chair a PTO event decided by the PTO executive committee.
Library - Help faculty and administration in our school library
Hospitality – Organize and bake for receptions and visiting guests for various school activities
Lunch Committee – Collect and tally lunch orders monthly; provide supplies needed such as plates, cups, etc.
Sports Committee – Help during sports events
Garden Learning Center Committee – Help raise funds for the Garden Learning Center
